A little late, but Love and Beans in Thin Times went live in DreamForge magazine. From the editor's notes:

Set in a world where time becomes malleable, the narrative follows the experiences of Keeya and Guin, two lovers navigating a universe nearing its end, where the collapse of time creates unexpected separations and reunions. This touching tale blends elements of physics and romance, exploring the complexities of love in a world where basic continuity is no longer a given.

I'm delighted to announce the publication of The Box in MetaStellar magazine. It's flash fiction, that came from a writing prompt from my BSFA Orbiter writing group. Of course, I had to subvert the prompt a little, but that's the point: you don't write the obvious story, but go where your imagination takes you.

"It's a rare event when one hears an audiobook that expands one's mind and breaks one's heart at the same time. De Cuir makes every last word of this first- person story come alive with an adolescent's hopes, doubts, and dreams."

I'm so chuffed! Skyboat Media 's audiobook of Expiration Day has been awarded an "Earphones" by AudioFile Magazine .

chuffed: adjective. Brit. informal very pleased ...
ORIGIN 1950s: from dialect chuff "plump or pleased"
(from the Oxford Dictionary of English. 2nd edition, 2003, OUP)

Baltimore SF Society Logo

The Compton Crook Award is for debut authors in the Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror genres, and is run by the Baltimore Science Fiction Society . The award will be announced in April, leading up to Balticon in May.

It's a tough shortlist with some excellent new authors on there. There are a couple of other Tor authors there, so kudos to Tor for investing in new talent. And there's a very fine novel that I've already read and reviewed - Emmi Itranta's Memory of Water .
